Founded by some recent UCA graduates, Yellow Root Laboratories is a pharmaceutical startup located in Advincula Science Park that seeks to develop "all-natural" plant based medicines of sufficient quality and proven efficacy to earn FDA approval, thereby allowing them to tap the largely unexploited market of back-to-earthers who recognize that a lot of herbal medicine is unsupported at best, and dangerous at worst. At least, that's the plan. Their main project, and the one from which they draw their name, is an attempt to produce and test high-purity curcumin-piperine pills from tumeric and either black or long pepper for use as anti-cancer drugs.
